My friend across the hall has a silent classroom when she arrives early, and at the end of the day when students leave: silence. My personal children are with me before the bell, during the school day, and immediately after the end of the day bell. I go from Mrs. Cain to Mama instantly. I’m serving after school snacks, telling Cart “No” to the 27 different games he wants to pull out, and playing referee between my children. I glance over across the hall to see my friend working on the never ending to do list in silence…. I find myself….. wishing I had a silent room to tackle my never ending teacher to do list.
But that is not my current season.
That’s it. That is my list. You can go spend all of the money. You can do all of the research. You can try so hard to avoid it. However, these three things: I am so glad I did them. They matter the most. They saved me.
Last season was the hardest season our family faced as far as coaching. It was a real doozy. However, I am so so grateful for that very season. Last season built our “platter.” (Your platter is your plate of life. How much can you handle on your plate? We like to say we have a platter.) Last season “pray for your husband” really made sense to me.
Sure, each step deeper in the valley has been so so hard. However, with each step we have seen God’s hand perfectly guiding us.
See the flowers, friend. God is planting them. They even grow in the valley.
